I’m a long time programmer, that has the current role of IT manager. I’ve been studying most of my life, which results in a widely knowledge of internet technology. My interest for programming began far back when the commodore 64 was a popular machine. I can still remember writing cobol like stuff with much frustration.
Nowadays, I am working most of my time on various web applications and managing my dev team. We build public websites with custom-build backends, CRM/ERP/CMS systems. We also use new technologies like HTML5/CSS3 and try out other experimental stuff in our Labs environment.
I personally don’t code a lot anymore, but if I do, it is mostly prototype code and other ‘agile development’ tasks. I do spent a whole lot of time on research though and try to keep up with tomorrows new technologies.
